4	Bodegas Paso Robles 2009 Dona Blanca Appellation: Paso Robles Grenache Blanc Blend Blend of Grenache Blanc, Malvasia, Bodegas Paso Robles (Paso Robles, CA) -- (Winery Info & All Wines) Winemaker: Dorothy Schuler This was the 3rd consecutive year of drought during the rainy season. A hot July, and intense heat for 2 weeks in August had most of us in Paso Robles thinking it would be an early, short harvest. The last 2 weeks of August were cool, and the Grenache Blanc was picked only 1 day earlier than in 2008. Although the Malvasia was picked 2 weeks later than in 2008, the Brix was almost 2 degrees lower, thus creating a 2009 DoÃ±a Blanca with lower alcohol and higher acidity than the 2008 vintage.
